‘Holi’ is celebrated on the day of Phalgun Purnima (last full moon day of the lunar month).Holi, as a festival assumes immense religious importance and marks the onset of Vasant Ritu.
Asaram Bapu, a self-realized saint from India, endearingly called Bapu has explicated the essence and significance of ‘Holi’ and has advised people to celebrate Holi in a manner attuned to the Vedas (ancient Hindu scriptures). Bapu has reiterated during his satsangs (spiritual discourses) that Hindu festivals should be celebrated in the vedic way. Bapuji mentions that this bonfire even possesses the power to destroy latent tumor cells of the body.

लेंटाइन डे पर की माता-पिता की पूजा भास्कर न्यूज  रायपुर. वेलेंटाइन डे पर वीआईपी रोड स्थित लवकुश वाटिका में सैकड़ों बच्चों ने नई परंपरा की शुरुआत की। शहर के युवाओं ने पाश्चात्य संस्कृति की नकल कर वेलेंटाइन डे मनाया, तो इन बच्चों ने अपने माता-पिता की पूजा कर मिसाल पेश की।
आसाराम आश्रम के संचालक प्रफुल्ल भाई ने बताया कि गुरुवंदना से कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत हुई। वेद मंत्रोच्चर के बीच आसाराम गुरुकुल में अध्ययनरत छात्र-छात्राओं ने मातृ-पितृ देवो भव: की भावना से अपने माता-पिता को तिलक लगाया, अक्षत चढ़ाया, पुष्प अर्पित कर माला पहनाई, आरती उतारकर प्रणाम किया और मिठाई खिलाई। इसके बाद सात प्रदक्षिणा कर आदर प्रकट किया। पूजन से अभिभूत अभिभावकों ने बच्चों को आशीर्वाद दिया। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि निगम के सभापति संजय श्रीवास्तव थे। http://www.bhaskar.com/2010/02/16/100216045151_valentine_day.html
